Quality Control/Test Technician

LOCATION: Perkasie Pa.
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
STATUS: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY
The Inspector/Test Technician is responsible for day-to-day inspection and test activities on the shop floor including precision assembly, calibration, test/inspection, and special parts preparation in a contract manufacturing environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Inspects incoming material, in-process work, and finished products for conformance to specifications and standards.
  • Interprets and executes Test & Inspection guidelines per work order requirements.
  • Develops and documents (with Engineering guidance) Test & Inspection procedures for new products.
  • Coordinates in-house product test activities with Production to meet schedule, quality, and safety objectives.
  • Ensures quality records and related data transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Tracks and records labor hours and materials consumed in the execution of test & inspection activities.
  • Inspects tools, fixtures, test equipment, and measuring devices for quality and calibration status.
  • Collects and reports QC metric data to management as required.
  • Identifies and resolves (with management support) tooling or training deficiencies that may affect quality and safety.
  • Recommends (to Engineering) efficiency or reliability improvements to production methods and equipment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • AS Degree in Electrical Engineering or Related field desired.
  • High school diploma and 2-year trade school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Prefer 3-5 years’ experience as test technician or precision assembler.
  • Experience with calipers, micrometers, DMM, and oscilloscope highly desirable
  • Must be able to solder and crimp to IPC standards as well as inspect solder joints and wire crimps to standard.
  • Quality training in a Kaizen, ISO-9000, Six-Sigma or similar program is highly desirable.
  • Must possess strong communication and diplomacy skills to assist the Production team in improving skills and compliance with standards.
  • Experience within a highly technical production environment is highly desirable

EFE operates out of a newly renovated 35,000 square foot facility located in Perkasie, PA. Overtime possibly on Saturdays 7:00am-12:00pm as needed.
